What is the procedure involved in repairing auto glass?
Windshield repair mainly involves injecting the damaged area with resins using advanced tools that are particularly designed to carry out this function. The area is then cured using ultraviolet light source. The procedure combines human skill and technology to sufficiently restore the strength and much of the clarity of the damaged windshield.
How long does it take to carry out repair/replacement?
The time to repair the windshield will be 30 minutes or less while the time taken to replace a windshield is 60 minutes or less. After that, it all depends on how quick the adhesives dry up, and this process usually takes around 60 minutes or so. Although the duration may vary depending on the vehicle make, it is advisable that you do not drive the car at least 60 minutes after the repair/replacement process is completed.
Can damage to my auto glass be repaired?
It is important to assess the extent and degree of the auto glass damage so that we can accordingly determine the repair that needs to be conducted. If the damage in your windshield is the size of a dollar coin or smaller than that, it can be repaired.
How much will auto glass repair cost?
If your glass has merely chipped a little bit, it will not cost too much to have it repaired. And, if your auto insurance comes with glass coverage then you can carry out the repair free of cost. Different vehicles require different windshields so cost of replacement will accordingly differ. Simply give us a call and we will give you a free quote.
On completion of the repair work, can you be certain that the chip/crack will not be seen?
No, we cannot guarantee this even though repair is meant to avoid additional damage and maintain the structural reliability of the vehicle because a small mark or spot can be left during the repair procedure. But overall, it will be in a better state than the last time you saw it, that is before the repair.
Can you assure that a chip/crack will not worsen during the repair process?
No, we cannot assure that for a fact because even though our professionals are highly qualified and skilled and even though it may be no fault of theirs, the repairs can lead to an increase in the crack. But nevertheless, you can be certain that the crack or chip will not increase further once the repair is completed.
Will repair/replacement harm any other vehicle part?
No. The auto glass service will not harm any other part of your vehicle. This is because, during the repair or replacement of your windshield or auto glass, we make use of precautionary measures so that damage can be avoided.
Does weather play a factor in windshield repair/replacement?
Yes, it does. It is tedious to carry out repair or replacement of your windshield if the weather is stormy or rainy, and even more difficult without cover. So it is best that your vehicle be kept in a heated area or make sure that there is shelter available where your glass repair can be conducted seamlessly.
The rearview mirror is attached to my vehicle’s windshield. Will the technician attach it to the new windshield as well?

Other than the front windshield, can you fix or replace any other auto glass?

Is there a distinction between OEE and OEM glass?
Yes, there is. Manufacturer of the Original Equipment Equivalent (OEE) glass is different from the one who manufactured your original glass. Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) glass on the other hand is made by the same manufacturer, who manufactured your original glass. You can ask us to opt for either the former or latter glass and know that no matter what glass you choose, they match the prescribed safety and industry standards.

Auto Glass: Insurance Information
Are insurance claims handled by Advantage Auto Glass? Can you bill my insurance company for my auto glass repair?

How much do I pay out of pocket?
Many insurance companies provide free chip repair if you are not going to replace your windshield. If you have comprehensive auto insurance coverage your windshield or auto glass replacement will be covered. You only have to pay your deductible.
If I make a claim, will my premiums go up?
Only your claim history and how your insurance company handles those claims will determine the impact that is made on your premiums. If you ever have to pay a higher premium, we will get you in touch with your broker or insurance company. If you have not made any claims in the past, some insurers also cover your deductible when it comes to a replacement. So get in touch with us and we will see what we can do.
What if liability coverage is all I have?
If you only have liability coverage, it will offer coverage for the damages that have happened to another vehicle only. Auto glass services and facilities do not come under your liability policy.
Will my new windshield repair/replacement be paid for by the insurance company?
If you have full coverage then of course it will be paid for by the insurance company after your comprehensive deductible is taken into account. Do not mix up your comprehensive deductible with your collision deductible as the latter is usually higher and does not include windshield repair/replacement. What if the auto glass service happens to be more than or the same as my deductible?
You are held responsible for any cost that reaches up to your deductible amount. If the cost goes above your deductible, it is your insurance company that pays up the amount. If you encounter a problem or have a high deductible, just give us a call and we can help you out with the same.
If my windshield happens to be repaired rather than replaced, will insurance companies waive my deductible?
Many insurance companies provide full coverage with no deductible for windshield repair so that the cost you have to pay rounds up to zero. But it is best to call your insurance company and confirm your insurance coverage before proceeding with repairs.
